I currently work as Associate Professor in French (tenure track) at the University of Helsinki. I am Docent in French language (2020, University of Helsinki) and PhD (2010, University of Helsinki).
My main research areas are politeness, address forms and gender-inclusive language. My new project, for which I am currently applying for funding, focuses on gender-inclusive language in global Frenches. The international project Doing ‘Interrupting in parliamentary debates: A cross-linguistic perspective (2022–24) that I direct received funding from Ella and Georg Ehrnrooth Foundation and Maija Lehtonen Funds (University of Helsinki).
Furthermore, I have had two projects on politeness: my postdoctoral project Politeness in Finland and in France (2017–19) was financed by the Kone Foundation, and my project Politeness in Authentic Intercultural Interactions between Finnish and French speakers received funding from Maija Lehtonen Funds of the University of Helsinki (2020). My PhD thesis (2010) focused on French address forms and their translations in Finnish and was funded by the University of Helsinki funds.
